COALESCENCE PURIFIER SERIES OIL-OILMATIC-OILJET The coalescence candle purifiers series OIL, represent the best technology available today for the filtration of oil mists, aerosols and vapors. The so-called “candles” are the heart of the system, constituted by special fibers or microfibers wound with progressive density and closely compressed, for a thickness of several centimeters, around a perforated metallic cylinder and enclosed by an outer mesh. The cylindrical shape of the candle, crossed from outside towards inside by the air flow to be purified, generates a rotary motion of the micrometric particles, which, also due to the Brownian movement, start to be collected and to coalesce, grow in fibers intersections transforming the flow from gaseous to liquid and finally drain by gravity out of the filter medium. Through the clapet siphons placed in the lower flange of the candle, the oil collected will drain in the pre-chamber below. It is possible to achieve a very high filtration efficiency, greater than 99,9%, values that is very difficult to reach with conventional depurators, especially considering that our systems will not need maintenance or replacement of the filtering elements. IMAS AEROMECCANICA produces 4 different types of coalescence purifiers, according to specific uses:

• OILMATIC, Suitable for treating mists and / or transformable vapors by condensation or agglomeration, generated by mechanical processing such as hot or cold metal forging, gear toothing, broaching, snagging, heat treatments, etc… The technical features supplied allow it to work continuously without interruptions, in fact, with the purifier in operation, a series of motorized valves excludes cyclically and alternatively a candle from the working cycle, allowing the drainage.

OIL, Suitable to treat the same mists or vapors of the model described above, preserving the same filtering characteristics. It does not have valves and relative cycle, therefore it requires arrests to allow the drainage of the condensed oil in the candles and after 12 hours of continuous operation it must be followed by 6 to 12-hours of break.

OILJET, Particularly indicated to treat fumes or oil vapors emulsified in water, with possible presence of solid substances, sludge, etc… These models combine the coalescence filtration with a cleaning system in countercurrent by means of compressed air jets amplified; in order to get a proper cleaning, IMAS has designed and built special candles with reduced diameter made of glass-ceramic fibers.

OIL-FCGI are highly efficient coalescence purifiers, specific for the treatment of vapors and mists of vaporized or burnt oil emitted during cold or hot forging processes. It contains a candle filter media, placed inside the central body, made with galvanized panels sealed with a special anti-oil sealant. It also has a battery of panel prefilters and another consisting of pocket filters suitable for the filtration of any graphite, stearate or other solid components that could clog the spark plugs. These purifiers are suitable for outdoor installation. They are complete with differential pressure switches for each filtration stage and anti-explosio panels certified ATEX EX II D with EC type examination certificate no. EUM1_10_ATEX_0298.
The “FCGI-FCG” Series purifiers are high efficiency coalescing filters, specific for the treatment of vapors and mists of vaporized or burnt oil emitted during cold or hot forging processes.

All the purifiers, in the standard configuration, are equipped with:

• Agglomeration pre-filters in corrugated metal structure;
• Collecting tank with double chamber anti bubbling, drainage system, drain tap with safety clapet valve;
• Level gauge for overflow alarm with remote display signal;
• Digital differential pressure with ΔP display and dual intervention threshold;
• Certified venting panels ATEX EX II D with CE type examination certificate no. EUM1_10_ATEX-0298;

OCR series

Coalescence purifiers designed for the treatment of oily substances related to rubber molding and vulcanization. Made with specific fiberglass candles that use the principle of agglomeration of submicron particles, called the Brownian motion, they are used with excellent results of filtration efficiency and also of odor reduction. In fact, the solid particles typical for these processes, having unpleasant odours, are retained by the filteri media, preventing the spread of bad odors into the atmosphere, typical of hot processing of rubber.
The filtration process consists of a first stage of pocket elements, necessary to retain the larger particles and then end up in the coalescing candles going from outside to the inside. A side door facilitates inspection and replacement of filter pockets. The filtration efficiency is higher than 99.99%
