MODULAR DUST COLLECTORS “M23” and “M30” Series, “Containment” version
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Used for the purification of gaseous emissions from industrial processes, they are made of hot-dip galvanized sheet and are suitable for the treatment of fine, dry or low humidity powders, even in high concentrations and it is also possible to treat filamentary materials. They are available in a wide range of models with sleeves or cartridge filter media. Particular attention has been paid to the design of each part of which the dust collector is composed, such as the proportional evaluation of the filtering battery in terms of upward volume and speed, the dimensions of the settling chamber and the relative flow lines, the air inlet and outlet sections with speed lower than 20 m/s, the inclination of the hopper higher than 45° and the optimization of the cleaning system (by injection of compressed air in countercurrent), obtained after numerous tests carried out to define the section of the jets, the optimal distance of the firing lances and the range.
WORKING PRINCIPLE OF THE “M23” and “M30” VERSION, “K” VERSION
The dust collector, put in depression by the aspirator, is crossed by the flow of dusty air, which enters laterally in the lower part of the main body, above the hopper, where, thadue to the considerable increase in section and the consequent decrease in speed, the larger particles decant by gravity while the smaller particles, carried by the current, are retained by the filtering media. The fluid without impurities, passes through the sleeves or cartridges from the outside to the inside, runs through the inside of the filter elements arranged vertically and goes out to the top. During normal operation of the suction system, when the pressure switch detects the increase in pressure drops due to the progressive clogging of the filters, an electronic control unit automatically activates the cleaning, managing the cycle of the solenoid valves, which will discharge the air in the firing lances generating jets of air compressed within each row of filters. The shock wave that is created, amplified by the “venturi” effect, opens the pores of the filter media and allows the detachment of the powders that fallnto the containment section. This happens without stopping the production processes.

DK Series dust collectors with CONTAINMENT, used for the purification of gaseous emissions from industrial processes, are suitable for the treatment of fine, dry or low humidity powders, even in high concentrations and filamentary materials. The dust collectors of this series adopt a filter media cleaning system by means of counter-current compressed air jets.
The advantages of this cleaning system are linked to the quality of the suction throughout the work cycle, to the constant efficiency and the absence of periodic maintenance and are used in companies whose production process generates dust of any nature and particle size, and in different concentrations, such as the steel industry, foundries, chemical and rubber industries, cement factories, metalworking industries, wood industries, food industry, painting processes, waste treatment, etc …
IMAS AEROMECCANICA includes, in the wide range of dust collectors that it uses for the filtration of dust and shavings deriving from wood processing, a series of silos suitable for the filtration and storage of the material, equipped with all the technical devices (anti-compaction bridge breaking system, speed-controlled extraction system) and safety systems (Atex direction and explosion protection system, safety and inspection system, fire protection system) which make it a product suitable for the different market needs. Years of experience have ensured that IMAS AEROMECCANICA was equipped with a range of silos that differ in size and storage capacity. We include the Silos with 14-18-24 Panels, the Silos on Legs, the Polygonal Silos.
Filtering Silos 14 panels
Filtering silos made specifically for the storage of waste deriving from wood processing, such as wood chips or sawdust, complete with side discharge extractor by means of a 280 mm diameter screw driven by a gear motor. Built under ISO 9001 quality control in the plant of IMAS, they are made in a polygonal shape with 14 sides corresponding to an average diameter of about 4000 mm, complete with ladder and parapet. The storage volumes vary from a minimum of 45 to a maximum of 120 m3; supplied in different configurations, the maximum height of the silo cannot exceed 16 metres. Equipped with a large surface area filter head, they combine storage characteristics with the possibility of filtration with operation in depression up to 6000 Pa. The sleeve cleaning system, with snap-ring connection, is carried out by shaking, through a vibrator motion attached to the sleeve holder frame, supported by oscillating chain elements. The maximum flow rate allowed for the S14 silo, with this type of cleaning, is 38,000 m3 / H. The cleaning system with counter-current compressed air jets is available as an option.
Explosion venting panels manufactured by IMAS (under quality control with notification No. EPT 17 ATEX 2882Q) and certified EX II D as Atex protection system with CE Type No. EUM1-10-ATEX 0298, dimensioned according to EN14491. Level indicator for filling limit control, ATEX Ex II 3D certified, 24 V a.c. s power supply. Inspection door in galvanised steel, complete with sealing gasket, double closure with a special key, aluminium hinges and ATEX Ex II 3D certified micro-switch;

Filtering Silos 18 panels
Filtering silos made specifically for the storage of waste from wood processing, such as wood chips, sawdust and any small wood chips (and only if mixed with chips not exceeding 50%). They are complete with “EB” series extractor with lateral discharge by means of a 280 mm diameter screw conveyor, driven by a gear motor. The quantity of discharge, which can be manually adjustable by means of a variator, depends on the needs of use, from a minimum of 3.9 to a maximum of 24 m3/h. Built under ISO 9001 quality control in the plant of IMAS, with galvanised sheet metal panels, they are made in a polygonal shape with 18 sides corresponding to an average diameter of about 5100 mm, complete with ladder and parapet. Storage volumes vary from a minimum of 100 to a maximum of 265 m3; supplied in different configurations, the maximum height of the silos cannot exceed 20.5 meters (consider that with pneumatic cleaning, with the same capacity and filtering surface, the height is greater than approx. 1700 mm). Equipped with a large surface area filter head, they combine storage characteristics with the possibility of filtration with vacuum operation up to 6000 Pa. The sleeve cleaning system is carried out by shaking, by means of a motor-vibrator; the periodicity of the cleaning interventions varies according to the type and particle-size of the extracted dust. The maximum flow rate allowed for the S18 silo, with this type of cleaning, is 62,000 m3 / H. An optional cleaning system with counter-current compressed air jets is available. Except for the fact that it is more performing, it is absolutely necessary in the presence of fine dust or with the need for continuous processing. The specific ATEX equipment and explosion venting panels, built by IMAS and sized according to EN14491, allow the installation in zone 22 and the treatment of explosive dusts, Class St1 (Kst ≤ 200 bar*m/s – Pmax < 8 bar). The silos are equipped with a water spray ring in case of fire, with 2″ connection and requires a minimum pressure of 2.5/3 bar (on customer’s charge).

Filtering Silos 24 panels
Filter silos made for the recovery and reuse of waste derived from wood processing, such as shavings, sawdust and any small chips. Filtering silos made specifically for the recovery and reuse of waste derived from wood processing, such as wood chips, sawdust and any small wood chips. They have a ECV series central discharge extractor. The quantity of discharge is fixed, around 6/7 m3/h, and the discharge can be done by means of a screw or pneumatic transport. Built under ISO 9001 quality control in plant of IMAS, with galvanised sheet metal panels (DX 51 D Z200), they have a polygonal shape on 24 sides corresponding to an average diameter of about 6800 mm, complete with ladder and parapet. The storage volumes vary from a minimum of 190 to a maximum of 450 m3. The sleeve cleaning system is carried out by shaking, by means of a motor vibrator attached to the sleeve-holder frame, supported by oscillating chain elements. The maximum flow rate allowed for the S24 silo, with this type of cleaning, in H4 configuration, is 86,000 m3/H with an ascending speed not exceeding 0.85 m/s. A cleaning system with counter-current compressed air jets is available as an option. It is certainly more performing and absolutely necessary in the presence of fine dust or with the need for continuous processing.
